The article presents a speech by Faith Whittlesey, former U.S. ambassador to Switzerland, former member of the White House Senior Staff and recipient of the 2010 International Friend of the Rose Award, delivered at the Great Rosarians of the World program, June 10, 2011. Whittlesey spoke about the American Rose Society (ARS) and its work of promoting rose culture. She introduced the guest of honor, Jeffrey Ware, executive director and chief executive officer (CEO) of ARS.
