The article presents a speech by Henri R. Manasse, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), presented to the ASHP House of Delegates at the ASHP Summer Meeting in Denver, Colorado. He discusses the changes that have cropped up in the field of pharmacy in his 16-year stint with the ASHP. These include legal and social consequences of being accountable and the FDA's Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS).
