ABSTRACT
The article presents a speech by Bill Lawson of Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), delivered at joint hearing of Committees on Veterans' Affairs members, held on March 30, 2011, in which he discussed issues on the well-being of veterans with spinal-cord injury or dysfunction [SCI/D]. He says that PVA works to ensure that the medical, economic, and social needs of veterans with SCI/D are met. He adds that proposed cost-cutting measures threaten U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) services.
