ABSTRACT
The article presents the text of a speech delivered by Professor Jack Goldsmith on February 24, 2010 before the members of the staff and faculty of The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School where he talked about his time in the as head of the Office of Legal Councel (OLC) in the U.S. Justice Department, an inquiry on the potential ethical lapses by some of his predecessors and the obligation of an Executive Branch lawyer when new and difficult interpretative issues arise.
