ABSTRACT
The article presents a speech by President of the International Oak Society (IOS) Béatrice Chassé, delivered at 6th IOS Conference held from October 20 to 22, 2009 in Puebla, Mexico, in which she mentioned the significant role played by the IOS in providing a platform for Mexican researchers to make known their opinions on conservation policies and announced that the first IOS U.S. event will be held on May 2, 2010.
