ABSTRACT
The article presents a speech by Richard A. Hesse, emeritus professor of law at Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire, delivered at the "Interdisciplinary Conference on the Impact of Technological Change on the Creation, Dissemination and Protection of Intellectual Property," in which he discussed the separation of U.S. government and religion, the growing importance of free exercise of religion, and the zero sensitivity of the Smith opinion to religious practice.
