Push in Canada for lift-axle rule harmonization

The article presents a speech given by Imants Krumins, a Canadian transportation official from Alberta, during the Canadian Transportation Equipment Association's Manufacturers Conference. Krumins lauded the recent liberalization of lift axle regulations in the western provinces but called for harmonization among all of the provinces. According to Krumins, lift axles are not specifically outlawed in Alberta but are prohibited by a technicality. He added that lift axles offered benefits including fuel savings to operator.
