ABSTRACT
The article reports on the commitment of Caisse Nationale des Caisses d'Epargne et de Prevoyance to municipal bond issuer CIFG amid the proposed merger between its French parent company Group Caisse d'Epargne and French bank Groupe Banque Populaire. According to CIFG executive board Anthony Orsatelli, the proposed merger would attempt to incorporate several strategic lines of business as well as the capital market, asset management, and custody businesses.
