ABSTRACT
A brief profile of Shaka, who was considered as one of the most brilliant of all Zulu monarchs, is presented. Shaka established the Zulu Empire which was regarded as one of the largest and most feared throughout Africa. He revolutionized warfare in the southern part of the continent by introducing assegai, a much lighter and sharper weapon. Because of fear of the safety of the Zulu kingdom, his half-brothers killed him in 1827.
