ABSTRACT
Altair, the brightest star in the constellation Aquila. It is the 12th brightest star in the sky, with an apparent magnitude of 0.77. Altair is about 10 times as luminous as the sun and is white in color. It is about 16 light-years from the earth. As seen from the earth, Altair has a faint star on each side of it.
