ABSTRACT
Aerosol, a dispersion of liquid or solid particles in air or in some other gas. These particles are usually too small to be seen individually with the unaided eye. Fog, clouds, smoke, mist, smog, and volcanic ash are aerosols that commonly occur in the atmosphere. Aerosols belong to the class of dispersions called colloids.
