ABSTRACT
Creeper, the common name of several kinds of small birds. These birds include honeycreepers, found in Hawaii and South America; the wall creeper, found in the high mountains of Europe and Asia; and tree creepers, found almost worldwide. The only creeper native to the continental United States is the common tree creeper (also called the brown creeper ). It is five inches (13 cm) long with a drab, brown back and dull white underparts. It climbs spirally up tree trunks, much like a woodpecker, using its stiff tail feathers for support.
