ABSTRACT
Infertility, the condition in which fertilization of an egg by a sperm cannot take place naturally. Infertility can occur in many kinds of animals; this article is concerned with infertility in humans. Some common causes of infertility are a hormone imbalance (which can lead to a low sperm count or failure to release an egg), impotence, and blockage of a fallopian tube.
