ABSTRACT
McIndoe, Archibald (1900-1960) was a New Zealand plastic surgeon who became famous during World War II (1939�1945) because of his work with badly burned and disfigured fighter pilots. McIndoe's work provided a foundation for the advancement of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
