ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "printing press" is presented. It refers to a machine that prints images on paper for commercial products such as newspapers. Any printmaker's press works in the same basic way by applying pressure between a sheet of paper and an inked printing plate. There is a major difference between a press used for intaglio prints and one used for relief prints.
