ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "dictionary attack" is presented. It refers to an act of trying to crack a password or key that tries all of the words or phrases in a dictionary. The difference between a dictionary attack and a brute force attack is that it uses a list words that are predefined, while a brute force attack tries all possible combination.
