ABSTRACT
The article presents an encyclopedia entry offering information on the number of rivers in Alaska. There are more than 3,000 rivers in Alaska of which the longest ten are Yukon River, with 1, 400 miles in Alaska, Porcupine River, which is a major tributary of the Yukon River, Koyukuk, Kuskokwim, Tanana, Innoko, Colville, Noatak, Kobuk and Brich Creek. Meanwhile, the major navigable Alaska inland waterways are Chilkat, Kobuk, Koyukuk, Kuskokwim, Kvichak, Nakenek, Noatak, Nushagak, Porcupine, Stikine, Susitna, Tanana and Yukon.
