ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "vitamin C" is presented. It refers to ascorbic acid, a factor which is essential for formation of collagen in connective tissues. It deficiency leads to scurvy. Sources of vitamin C include raw cabbage, young carrots, orange juice, lettuce, celery, onions, tomatoes, radishes, and green peppers.
