ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "tort" is presented. It refers to a wrongful act or injury, committed by an entity or person against another person or another person's property, that may be pursued in civil court by the injured party. The law related to torts aims at making amends to the injured party, primarily through monetary compensation damages.
