ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "thorn test" is presented. It refers to an outdated test in which corticotrophin was administered to determine adrenal insufficiency. It caused a decrease in the circulation of eosinophils in healthy subjects but did not have the same effect on subjects with adrenal insufficiency.
