ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "thermoanesthesia" is presented. "Thermo" is derived from "therme" meaning "heat" and "aisthesis" meaning "sensation" in German. The term refers to the inability to distinguish between heat and cold; and insensibility to heat or temperature changes.
