ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "tetrad," is presented. It refers to a group of four cells which are made within a spore mother cell during meiosis. Another meaning is an atom, radical or element which is tetravalent. In terms of genetics, tetra means a group of four chromosomes in prophase 1 of mitosis.
