ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "Tensilon test" is presented. It refers to a test that is used in the diagnosis of myasthenia gravis (MG). In this test, a short-acting anticholinesterase drug, such as edrophonium chloride or neostigmine, is injected. The patient is then monitored for improved muscular strength. Improvement with the active drug indicates MG.
