A definition of the term "survey," is presented. It refers to the study of a particular disease or condition and focusing on its epidemiological aspects. Another meaning is the rapid and careful assessment of a patient's respiratory, circulatory, and neurological status. In emergency care there are two surveys including primary and secondary. The former one focuses on the state of cardiac rhythm, circulation, and neurological disability of a patient.
