ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "substance" is presented. It refers to the material of which any organ or tissue is composed, that is, matter. It also means a chemical or drug. A chemical with potential for abuse, when used in a medicolegal context. Many substance may be abused even though its clinical use is approved when used as prescribed.
