ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "subculture" is presented. It refers to the culture of bacteria with material derived from another culture. It also refers to a relatively cohesive group of individuals living within a society who share many qualities including socioeconomic status, genetic heritage or may be predisposed to particular states of health or illness.
