ABSTRACT
Several references for the term "sting" including bee sting, caterpillar sting, and catfish sting are presented. It refers to a sharp sensation, or a puncture wound caused by a venomous barb or spine. Its symptoms include generalized hives, dizziness, a tight feeling in the chest, difficulty breathing, and other disorders. Treatments for sting include the removal of stinger, local application of ice to limit inflammation at the site of the sting.
