ABSTRACT
Several references for the term "stigma" including hysterical stigma and psychic stigma are presented. The term "stigma" refers to a mark or spot on the skin or lesions or sores of the hands and feet resembling crucifixion wounds. Hysterical stigma refers to one of the peculiar marks or symptoms of hysteria, while psychic stigma refers to a particular mental state which is marked by susceptibility to suggestion.
