ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "stiff baby syndrome" is presented. It refers to an inherited medical disorder which is marked by muscular rigidity appearing during the first days of life. The disorder may be associated with an excessive startle response, apnea, gait disturbance, or regurgitation of foods.
