ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "stenosis" is presented. It refers to stenosis the constriction or narrowing of a passage or orifice. Several references to the term including aortic stenosis, cicatricial stenosis, infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis and renal artery stenosis are presented. Cicatricial stenosis refers to stenosis resulting from any contracted scar.
