ABSTRACT
A definition for the term "stability" is presented. One meaning refers to the condition of remaining unchanged, even in the presence of forces that would normally change the state or condition. Another refers to measure of the ability of an aerosol to remain in suspension. This measure depends on the size, type, and concentration of particles, the humidity, and the mobility of the gas in which the particles are transported.
