ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "spurling's maneuver, spurling's test" is presented. It refers to extending the patient's neck, moving the head to the affected side, and pressing down to determine if symptoms of paresthesia or pain intensify. The technique is used for physical assessment of patients with possible cervical nerve root compression.
