ABSTRACT
A definition of "Sever's disease" is presented. It refers to a syndrome in which apophysitis of the heel bone occurs in adolescents who participates in sports. It can be treated with icing, Achilles tendon stretching, anti-inflammatory medication, and by avoiding weight bearing. Child with pronated feet is recommended the use of medial heel wedges and in other cases heel lifts are prescribed.
