ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "seldinger technique" is presented. The term refers to a procedure of percutaneous introduction of a catheter into a blood vessel. In this procedure, a needle is inserted into the vessel and when it gets a good blood flow, a wire is threaded through the needle well into the vessel. Then the needle is removed and the catheter threaded over the wire into the vessel.

Background. The incidence of congestive heart failure is 3-fold greater than that of acute coronary syndrome in haemodialysis (HD) patients.
