It refers to a disease of the sebaceous glands marked by an increase in the amount, and often an alteration of the quality, of the fats secreted by the glands. Shampoo containing selenium sulfide or sulfur can treat mild dandruff, a type of seborrhea. A lotion or cream containing corticosteroids is used to treat severe seborrhea.
