ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "rippling muscle disease" is presented. It refers to a rare autosomal dominant muscle disease. Its symptoms include spontaneous muscle contraction when muscles are stimulated by stretching, percussion, or squeezing. Affected patients are usually recognized during childhood.
