ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "retropulsion" is presented. It refers to the pushing back of any part, as of the fetal head in labor. It also means a gait disturbance in which patients involuntarily walk backward. It is seen in some diseases of the central nervous system, including Parkinson's disease.
