ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "punctate" is presented. It refers to the pinpoint punctures or depressions on the surface of the body, which is marked with dots. Punctates are found in different forms including pits, rash, and keratoses. Pits are depressed areas of the skin, especially of the palmar creases of the hands and soles.
