ABSTRACT
A definition of the biological term "propolis" is presented. It refers to a sticky resin present in the buds and bark of certain trees and plants. Bees collect it for repairing combs, filling cracks and making the entrance to the hive waterproof. It has the potentiality of a topical antibacterial.
