A definition of the term "postural drainage" is presented. It refers to a passive airway clearance technique. Under postural drainage, patients are positioned in manner where gravity assists the removal of secretions from specific lobes of the lung, bronchi, or lung cavities. Gastroesophageal reflux is one of the side effect of the treatment.
