ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "Pel-Ebstein fever" is presented. Pel-Ebstein fever was named after Dutch physician Pieter K. Pel and German physician Wilhelm Ebstein. The term refers to cyclic fever occurring in Hodgkin's disease in which periods of fever lasting from 3 to 10 days are separated by an afebrile period of about the same length.
