A definition of the medical term "pegylation" is presented. Pegylation refers to the chemical linking of a drug, such as interferon, to polyethylene glycol. Pegylation increases the half-life of interferon, which can then be administered less frequently. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co.
