ABSTRACT
A definition of the terms "orthotonos" and "orthotonus" is presented. The terms refers to tetanic spasm marked by rigidity of the body in a straight line. The term originated from the Greek words "orthos" which means straight and "tonos" which means tension. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co.
