ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "new drug application" is presented. It refers to the application submitted to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval to market a new drug to the general public. FDA requires evidence of the new drug's safety and efficacy prior to approval. New drug application is abbreviated as NDA.
