ABSTRACT
Several definitions of the medical term "monitor" are presented. Monitor refers to one who observes a condition, procedure, or apparatus, especially one responsible for detecting and preventing malfunction, or a device that provides a warning if that which is being observed fails or malfunctions, or to check by using an electronic device. The definitions are from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co.
