ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "lycoperdonosis" is presented. It refers to a respiratory disease caused by inhaling large quantities of spores from the mature mushroom commonly called puffball. The medical term originated from the Greek words "lykos," meaning wolf, "perdesthai," meaning to break wind, and "osis," meaning condition.
