ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "lipotropism, lipotropy" is presented. It refers to having the action of removing fat deposits in the liver. It also refers to an agent that acts to remove fat from the liver. The term originated from the words "lipos" which means fat, "trope" which means a turn and "ismos" which means condition. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co.
