ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "lipogranulomatosis" is presented. It refers to a disorder of fat metabolism in which a nodule of fat undergoes central necrosis and the surrounding tissue becomes granulomatous. The term originated from the words "lipos" which means fat, "granulum" which means granule, "oma" which means tumor and "osis" which means condition.
