ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "life" is presented. Life is the capability of using metabolic or biochemical processes to grow, reproduce and adapt to the environment. Life also refers to the time between the birth and the death of an organism. It also means the sum total of properties that distinguishes living things from nonliving inorganic chemical matter.
