ABSTRACT
A definition of the medical term "lecithin" is presented. Lecithin is a phospholipid that is part of cell membranes and is found in blood and egg yolk. On hydrolysis, it yields stearic acid, glycerol, phosphoric acid and choline. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co. The pronunciation of the term is also provided.
